Ok, so this is my first review, please bare with me.....
I have just finished my third tub of MusclePharm Combat protein, and I have to say I have been pleased with the product and its results.
Combat is a protein blend which consists of whey isolate, whey hydroslate, micellar casein and egg white albumen - the claim here is that the product feeds muscles for 8 hours. Further to this Combat contains 130 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 5 grams carbs and 24 grams of protein per serving with claims of added BCAA via a 'multi level amino growth matrix'(exact composition of which is unspecified) - all in all a reasonably clean protein blend with time release which is ideal for those on the go, like me.
Effectiveness: I experienced reasonable lean muscle gains using Combat in conjunction with a reasonably intensive training regime (6 day split) and clean diet. I can not attribute the gains solely to Combat as I was stacking with intra amino drinks however I am pleased with the effectiveness of the product 8/10
Mix-ability: I use a standard shaker and never experienced any clumping 10/10
Taste: As outlined above i have tried three flavours here, Chocolate, Triple Berry and Smores. Chocolate was great, you typically cant go wrong with Chocolate and MusclePharm have delivered here. The Triple Berry and Smores flavours were too sweet and the smores flavour had little marshmallows which sounds fantastic, however are better described as small pieces of teeth destroying gravel - certainly not my cup of tea. 7/10.
Value - The Combat tub is slightly smaller at 4lbs than other big name tubs of similar nature, making it comparatively less reasonable on a $/serve basis. However in my opinion Combat is a product worth a go for those looking to put on lean muscle mass.
Overall a solid protein blend, I would certainly buy again and happily recommend to those looking for a clean time release protein.
