What's your thoughts?

Personally I like this as he'll draw bigger players, but besides the point the management including CEO need to go also.

I'm with you, think this is a good call, it was pretty obvious they wanted to persist with Kirwan just like the AB's persisted with Henry after the RWC failure, but the Blues just failed way too hard this year, and couldn't retain talent for next year etc

Tana would be a good choice to take over the blues plus it would be a good way to get better players in. Krwin has turned the blues into the laughing stocks of super rugby by drawing poor crowds. As force the blues management, ceo and the bord that needs to go with a major clean out

Pretty sure blues weren't the laughing stock due to the poor crowds.....

Kirwan was a good player when he played for the all blacks and the Auckland sides of the late 80s and the early 90s but a rubbish coach at super rugby level since the Blues only won three games this year.

What amazes me about people bagging Kirwan/Blues, is that someone has to be on the bottom of the table. 2 years ago the Highlanders were the worst team in the comp and they are 4th?

Someone has to be last

Yeah but lets not forget that the catchment area for the Blues is twice the size of the next biggest area, they have the most people and the biggest budget. Half of NZ lives in Auckland lol, how can they not field a decent team?

Dunedin population: 127,000

Auckland population: 1.37 million

Because the population of a group dictates it's sporting skill?

NZ population 4 million, but #1 in rugby lol

Not sure what you're on about. Everyone knows that the size of the country doesn't translate to its success in any given sport, but we're talking about the catchment areas that make up the best Rugby playing country in the world, not about some massive country that doesn't give a shit about the sport v a tiny country that does. The Blues have far more players in their area and a much larger budget, they should be doing better plain and simple

There are more rugby clubs in the blues region because of the biggest population base and the blues should be caple of fielding a side that is competitive instead of being second last on the table which is funny in a way

I understand where you're coming from in a way, but by that logic, the Blues should be the most successful team always, but it clearly doesn't work that way.

By the same logic, any SA/AUS team should be better than the kiwi teams.

Regardless, next year it could be the Chiefs who fail. Could be the Canes. Someone has to be last, I just don't agree with blaming the coach, at least not fully.

Think they need to set up a meeting with the rat.

Big red was concerned the rat may support the blues if tana is the coach.
